Random Post

I was so pissed off today by my own idioticy!!! I've planned so perfectly that I wanted to finish off my assignment on sociology earlier today...and I completely ruined it!!!! Urghhhhh!!!!

I was about to go State Library and do my assignment there by borrowing books...cos I couldn't get bothered to go on 1 hour journey to my uni!!!!

So I went there, collected a book that I reserved yesterday, prepared my laptop, sat comfortably and......I forgot to bring my major reference article!!! Shit!!! Not only that!!! I forgot to copy my half written assignment in my USB...VOILA!!!! I felt like an idiot!!!!

Not enough with the unfortunates....the other books I wanted to look at were not available anymore!!!

So, I urged myself to my uni...(If I knew I have to go..I would have attended class in the morning)...Cos usually I only have 1 hour class on Wed, I will not attend...cos it is too far and too early...and I would just listen to online lecture at home!!!!

I was superly pissed off as the books that I planned to borrow were reserved by other patrons!!!Urgh!!!why everyone is doing the same topic as I am????? There are so many for you to choose!!!!

Doesn't matter anyway, I managed to find some other references which are equally helpful...

So, in the end, I am only starting doing my assignment now (4:48 P.M)...

My stacks of assignment references...

I am doing my essay on Australian Studies...Since I am in Australia, thought I might want to know the history...(why am I not interested in my own country's history?? and surprisingly I am more interested with Australian's history :)))

As I was passing by my uni's mini garden nearby entrance...I always like this roundabout thingy with a small fountain...

I won't reveal yet which uni I am attending...If you get the hint...keep it to yourself...Shhhhshh...;)

I like the uni in Australia...much much nicer and greener and absolutely larger than the uni I attended back in Malaysia...I have not had time to explore everything in my uni...(I did during orientation but didn't pay much attention to it)...So, probably next time...hahahaha!!!!

What am I doing???? I have loads of assignments sitting there waiting for me!!!! and I am CAMWHORING!!!

Reflection from my laptop...It was serendipity...Wasn't intending to..:)

Random...:)))

ENOUGH!!!! I really have to start NOW!!!!!

Innovative retail store

Just a random boring update before my post on SEEK volunteer experience...

I have been confirmed to join the volunteer team for starlight foundation next Friday...YAY!!!

I am looking forwards for the new experience!!!!

Coming back to the random post....Apparantly, retail shops are being 'creative' nowadays!!!!

You know how you normally will see scattered mannequins posing at the front of the shop???Apart of some mannequin being pretty and some have eyes etc and some don't, all of them share one similarity which is they are LIFELESS!!

Voila!!! Someone discovered how to make them more ALIVE!!!!

I was walking at Bourke st the other day when I saw THIS....

Woohooo!!! It s a pole dancing 'mannequin' -----> It's real girls of course...

This particular shop really attracted loads of visitor OUTSIDE...not INSIDE the store....

With highly competitive retail stores in the neighborhood...I guess you have no choice huh???

They should have put some techno songs though...:))

SEEK volunteer

I should be proud of myself with my spirit to blog lately!!! Or probably I am just playing with the new 'toy' as I'm still new in blogging network.....muHAHAHAHAHa!!!!!

Anyway, today's update will be on the recent 'Nuffnang SEEK volunteer blogger activity'....
SEEK is the No. 1 job site network not only in Australia but also UK!!! When I didn't have a job, I used to wake up every morning and log into SEEK...:)))) and I want to thank SEEK that I found my current casual job to fill in my uni hours...
So, SEEK volunteer department is looking for volunteer bloggers to either share their experience in volunteering to online community, or do a day/s volunteering with the assigned organization...(for those interested)...and SEEK found Nuffnang to help them spread the words...

At the end of the day, you get to donate $100 to the charity organization of your choice and under your name!!!! Of course sponsored by SEEK volunteer!!! Isn't that exciting???

So, I don't want to be left behind for this exciting event and do good karma!!! :))) i always want to volunteer for a day or so...and so, I got the opportunity to join one of the charity organization which the time and day are yet to be confirmed :)

In addition, I was also thinking of sharing an experience of mine on community service that I did back in Malaysia...I would consider it as volunteering as I wasn't paid for it... On the other hand, it was actually part of my course assessment. So, I wouldn't have found such great experience if it was not because I took the subject!! :))

We (my groupmates and I) started it by enrolling to abnormal psychology subject back when I was studying at Malaysia for 2 and a half years. Part of that subject required us to do 20 hours of community service and develop a project for the betterment of particular centre where we chose to be!

Some of the options are Autistic centre, centre for disable people etc and SO, when it comes to us, we chose SHELTER!!!! I would think that it was for orphans mostly when I visited for the first time...However, I was wrong! The shelter filled with mostly children despite of race, age, and ethnicity. I was shocked that even children with parents can be in the shelter as ORPHAN!!!
What the hell?????

Anyway, the name of the shelter is 'Agathians shelter' with currently 2 shelters... It does not only accept children without guardians but also children who come from abusive family background etc..you can visit the website by clicking the word above...and you will find some unbelievable stories...I just can't believe how parents could do that to their own kids!!!

The children mostly Indian and can't speak English very well...So, at first we went through hard time because of communication interference, thanks to one of our groupmates who know how to speak Tamil to help us out sometimes...We taught the kids English, maths. check their homeworks, and whatelse if not to play with them??? Slowly we got closer and closer towards the children and I felt sad when one of the kids confessed that they sort of create a boundary as not to get too close...One of the kids would say "You won't come back and see us anymore" How heartbreaking it is when we knew it was true????

In the end, we expand the hours to more than 20 hours because after all ..somehow, you would form an attachment ;p

As part of our course, we have to form a long-term project that could help the shelter and we found trouble thinking of one...As when we consult the person-in-charge of the shelter to find out what they need the most, they would say they need more volunteers, and for sure monetary needs in top....

So we decided to come up with fund raising through donation...not a new thing....but still!!!!
We decided to put up 10 securely-locked donation boxes throughout restaurants on the street and allowed it to be put at counters for up to 3 months!!

and for those who think it is easy, I will bet $100 that it is not at all easy!!!
We thought so....but know what??? It took literarily 3 whole days to find restaurants who would accept our (only 10) boxes as they have other donation boxes as well....
We approached almost 30 restaurants and refused harshly or softly everytime!!!
There was one rude restaurant that shoooed us right away!!! It was tough man!!!
our journey to find 'shelter' for the box:

Us with the box...I remembered we were so happy because there was one western restaurant who accepted!!! The owner was soooo kind!!!!

I cropped out my friends because i have not got the permission to upload their pic...
Gosh, I was so ugly in this pic!!!! It has been 2 years....:(((

I had loads more of the pic...but I lost them!!!! T.T because I formatted and changed laptop 2 years ago....and I have been harassing my friend for the pic...but she lost it too!!!! Damnnnn!!!

In the end, after days and night of travelling on foot and car, we managed to place all of the 10 boxes....YAY!!!! but we return the keys to the owner of the shelter as he will collect after 3 months...for safety purposes....and we also monitored how the donation boxes go...

It was absolutely a great experience I had oversea!!! Not only I learnt alot from the kids, but also of life...That I should be thankful of what I have and not to complaint on what I don't have!!
With what I have, I should help others in need...Don't need to be with money all the time....
But by volunteering....lend them your hands. Though I believe monetary needs are at the same time very important...

That is my reason why I want to join SEEK volunteer this time in Australia because there is no excuse as no time to volunteer...Just let go of your favourite show for a moment, don't log into FaceBook, Twitter or whatever for one day, don't play game for couple of hours, you could help make a difference!!!

Now that some of us are in Australia, US, etc, however we know that we don't forget about them and we will still go back and visit them once the opportunity comes :)

Sony Rolly.......

Some of you....or probably MOST of you might have checked out the new gadget introduced by Sony last year, which issssssssssssssssss...........................

SONY ROLLY~~~

I know I know...I am a very much "late-tech" people (<---I created the word by my own) LOL Anyway, this new MP3 speaker is absolutely COOL!!!! It is just sooooooooooooo cute!!!!! I was browsing youtube to check out various funny alarm clocks like the puzzle clock, if it rings, the small puzzles on top of the alarm is gonna blast out and you have to fit the pieces to stop the ring.... Or Nobby the 'talking' clock!!! These are cool!!! I wanna get one...!!!! Anyway, as I was checking these stuffs, I saw the Sony Rolly video and fell right away!! It is an MP3 speaker that can DANCE!!!! Yes!! Can't you see???? DANCE!!

It has some sort of censor inside that could detect songs and move in accord to the rhythm of the song!!! It can also be controlled by phone or PC using Bluetooth tech..Check this out......Credit from YouTube DigInfoNews

Cute right?????? Look how synchronize are they???? Even 'So You Think You Can Dance' can't be this sync!! It is really suitable for mini party and put them on the table to entertain people..Don't put on the floor though...Unless you want you $500 fly away as the size is really small...

Check it out at eBay...Pink one is more expensive...T.T Why everything comes with pink is always more expensive???

However, the downturn of this new gadget is that the capacity is too small..
It can only fit 1GB !!!!I feel like ditching my iPod for that...but it is not that Sony Rolly is very protable either..I don't think you gonna carry it with you allllllllllll the time...

Apart of that, this is something you might want to add into your collection!!!! :)))

Pie in the sky at Mt Dandenong

Lazy Sunday..............

I had to work in the morning at 7.00 A.m!!!! Ughhh....I wish I could find other works that require afternoon rather than morning shift...However, I could still enjoy the rest of the day if I work in the morning...and if I worked in the afternoon, I wouldn't have gone to .................

Mt Dandenong!!!!!!!!
Yes, I went to Mt Dandenong today with my boyfriend and other friends who drove us there....Kind of double date...Muhahahahaha LOL

So, after finished working, we went to meet his friends and started our journey of around 1 hour???? I don't remember coz I fell asleep....:)) Halfway I wanted to pee!!!
So we stopped by and snapped a scenery......(I had to walk 200 metres to public toilet...and we got lost....swt!!!!

Don't look at me, look at the scenery!!!!
Anyway, it was nice, has been longgggg time not been at mountain area...
The air is fresh, cool, good to live!!!!
There are lots of cafes for tourists to rest on their way up to 'sky something'. I don't remember...that's where you can sit a train and take on journey to watch fascinating scenery of Mt Dandenong and city...especially at night!!!

Ok!!Back to the reason why we went there...My friend heard that there is a pie shop which awarded 5 gold medals ***** for the best Aussie pie...So, driven by curiosity, we found our own way up towards the shop with the help of our friend's best sense of direction*

Ta da!!!!!!We were there!!!!

Pie in the sky!!!
We entered.......and..........shockingly filled with people who were queuing....!
Driven by even MORE curiosity, we waited and be seated....
The best gourmet pie and most famous + most popular is pie floater...
I was like wat??? Floated pie????Floated??? or Bloated????
This was the menu......

and I settled to order pie floater (This is the correct name...I was joking)....LOL
It came out to be like.....

It is really 'floating' right???? In the middle of curry savoury or something like that....
It was beef pie..and it was nice...I should say ....really affirm to the award....

Another one.....

My boyfriend ordered Korma chicken pie....which is nice as well...and I thought nicer than my pie floater...well, that's what i thought...

With chips and salads

Let's take a look at the interior....

hmmm.....Yummy~~~~

After the yummy gold medal lunch, we proceeded for 'window shopping' around the area... We went to antique shops where there were collections of antique oriental furniture and small goods, like compasses, jewellery boxes, all made up of woods...

This beautiful hat cost $59.90 or so...reminded me of some famous western movie with background of 1930s or so...

There were other colors as well :p

We went to a toy shop where I saw this......more than HUMONGOUS GIGANTIC bear bear!!!!!

Cost approximately $600 ++
Bigger than the one displayed in Melbourne central.....!!!!and cheaper!!! But you have to go oooo up way to Mt Dandenong to get it...:))

and also this very cute ice cream cakes....(shape) which are actually soaps....

I really wanted to eat them!!!!!

We went home afterwards...and I slept like a pig in the car...Pardon me, I was exhausted having to wake up 5.30 a.m!!!!! I am working again tomorrow...double paid....yay!!!!!

Happy Easter !!!!

Hey people!!!! What you do on good Friday????

It was absolutely dead in the city...well, some shops opened late in the afternoon while the rest like Safeway, Big W, and even Myer closed!!! Workers need rest of course...Totally understandable...While others might be getting paid double!!!!Whoaaaa......I do...later on Monday!!!
Woohoooo!!!!!

Anyway what I did today???? I woke up reluctantly in the afternoon and dragged by my boyfriend to eat lunch outside...No...I dragged him....xD
And so, we went down to Swanston St and had something at Old Town restaurant (Malaysian Chinese cuisine) and after zillionth years of considerations we decided to have salty pork ribs with rice (pour moi)

and my boyfriend had something like pork lemongrass whatsoever

and we shared a glass of red bean ice with ice cream..a bit too sweet but still yummy!!!

Well, all i can say is....The dishes was not very satisfying.....
It was not too bad...in between of mediocre....doesn't seem to be very much different with other restaurants that I tried so far...However, the price was alright with $8.50 each plus $2.50 for the drink...Originally, it was $5.00 but if you combine it with rice or noodle, you get discount...
It doesn't make any sense right not to order rice?????Duh!!!

After that since we were bored that there was no 'shops' open ----> as in fashion retail shops for window shopping :)
So, we just sat on the lawn in front of state library enjoying the cool breeze and the sun.....

My love towards Yarra tram??? LOL

In the evening, we had appointments with others to have dinner at a korean restaurant 'HAN GUK GUAN' at the corner of Exhibition and La Trobe St. I didn't take the pic...Simply forgot...
I am a human being...Sorry~~~

Not getting enough, we went to Max Brenner for coffee or chocolate i should say...Yuhuuu!!!

I had American Marshmallow Chocolate

I had stirred it up..so it doesn't look nice....:(

My boyfriend had cappucino which looked soooooo nice!!!!!!!!!

Slrppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))))

It's Max Brenner!!!!!!!!!!

Those of you who never tried should go RIGHT NOW and grab one of these!!!!!

Happy Easter again!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concept Blue at La trobe st

Fellow readers ....(If there is any)....Ok, let's get this right!!!

I am looking for a couple as housemate to stay with me and my boyfriend at Concept Blue located at La Trobe st. However, I will only post it up at gumtree around May...So for those who are interested should looku up at gumtree AU.

But I am gonna tell you some reasons why you should choose Concept blue over other apartments..especially fellow new QV is just right THERE!!! I mean ...nearby....

The first one is its location!
Concept Blue is nearby almost anywhere!!! It is nearby Swanston St, Melbourne Central, QV, State Library of Victoria, Bus Stop is just accross the street, City circle is just right in front of the entrance, if you are hungry at night you could just wear you pyjamas and stomp to Hungry Jack!!!
So what s the fuss????

Ok so what does the package include???
It has facilities of course!!!! What do you think????
Pool, gym, sauna n steam room ..(really steamy), what more??? It has an outdoor BBQ area which you can fit max 8 ppl and have fun til 10 P.M!!!

P.S: Booking beforehand is required !!

This is the pool...Depth is not too deep...so noone will drown :))

Spa area...I purposely switched on the bubble....hahahaha LOL (There was no one so I played with it)

The BBQ area...

and...for those who want to chill...

Let me see what else.....ermmmm.....
Ah.. quite a peaceful area..because of the regulations of yadi yadi yada....like you can't party like a rock star til morning...max til 12 A.M....
I know some of you might go BOOOOOOHHH....Hello??? It s apartment...You are not living by your own...Duh!!!

AND!!!! The rent is not exclusively expensive...depends on which agents you approach...and which floor you stay...The range should cover $1600-2000+ per/month...again, depends on which real estate agent you find...

For those who are buying, 2 bedrooms should cost about $350, 000 ++

This is how it looks like from the inside out...from my unit...

From my window's perspective......

That's new QV....The slimmer tall building behind...Again, from my window....

The overview...I found from google though...:)

Before I end this post..........................................................

Happy Easter y'all.....!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is good Friday!!! What you plan to do??? Plz do sth good...just for one day...do something more meaningful....rather than Par-tayyyyyyy..watever..I am not your grandmother anyway....:)

Ad sense by google

Have you known that you can make money with google 'adsense'???
I ve heard testimony that it really works!!! Every click of the google ad displayed on your blog is viewed, you are getting paid....Well, of course you yourself can't view it..That's the rule :)
It is easy to set up...

You just have to go to https://www.google.com/adsense and set up your own account.
After that, just wait for the confirmation for couple of days- a week (approximately).

After that, ta-da!!!!!you gonna have what looks like the side bar ------->
This is my first time trying either....hahahahaha
However, I am really NOT sure how it works...to find out more...check out on the link above...

Gud luck..don't sue me if sth goes wrong ok!
