Ignite at Dockland

Ignite at Dockland, a kind of festival to welcome winter!!!!

Apparently it has been held since last year, but I was not here yet, so it was my first time to visit.

I went because I heard there was firework display. For my whole life, I have never watched firework display no closer than 50 meters or even further...sad, I know...
but today, the firework is set from boats in the harbor in Dockland. It was very exciting!!!!

I saw this guy with light bulbs surrounding him. He was the MC apparently..Whooopsss :)

One of the performances that really entertained me is performance by Sticks, Stones, Broken bones.

This puppet master has a very unique way of bringing up his shadow puppet to live..

My Year Without Sex

Yay!!!!Finally I went to watch Australian movie My Year Without Sex using my in-season tickets THANKS TO NUFFNANG of course!!!!!

So I went with my boyfriend (in this cold weather) to NOVA cinema, Carlton. I guess NOVA cinema specializes in screening Australian local movie. I thought it was quite small, but actually it was not bad!!! :))) It was my first time to visit NOVA cinema...LOL and apparently the atmosphere is very Aussie :))

The experience of watching movie in NOVA has been fairly impressive for me..
Although it is not as big as other cinema like HOYTS
or VILLAGE but the Aussie atmosphere is there...

I realized there were a lot of elderly went to watch movies, which are really sweet...They are enjoying their Friday night with beloved husband and definitely looked happy.

My Year Without Sex is directed and written by Sarah Watt, starring Matt Day
and Sacha Horler.



This movie will suit family which reflects reality of family issues that commonly happened to middle-class family consists of parents with two young kids.

Normal everyday concern starting how to pay the bills, splitting responsibility of taking care of two young kids with husband working only while the wife is sick.

There will always be something to fight about when you have a family of your own. Distress about how you think your husband is not taking responsibility on housekeeping issue and how to manage your limited financial ability, etc. This is where the relationship between husband and wife being tested. Is sex the only matter in married couple relationship???

If you are curious, watch this movie, especially if you are international people who want to know more on Australia culture (footy :)) and typical family life, you should watch as well.

After the movie, approximately 90 minutes, we went down to Piazza Italia, what else if not Lygon st????!!!!!

Went to Cafe Cavallino and ordered pasta and pizza (I don't remember what I ordered, but if you look at the pasta session, there are only few choices for seafood pasta) and the seafood pastas are really lovely :)

Chinese Money Tree

Hahahahahaha!!!! What is so funny???

I just lied that I will not blog for the next few days…but here I am, coming out with new post instead of writing my final project proposal….Ahh, I shall feel guilty by now..

Anyway, I came out with idea of blogging today because………………..
I went to IKEA yesterday to buy some stuffs to fill the HUGE empty space in our new unit with my boyfriend…
Bought some household stuffs…and I bought this umbrella that only cost $2.95!!!!


Cheap right??? DON'T BE FOOLED!


I went to the counter and guess what???
The original price was 6.95….It will be $2.95 only when it is ACTUALLY RAINING outside!!!!

It is sooooooooooooooo RIDICULOUS!!!!
That is what happens to people who don’t read the small fonts underneath the gigantic magical value $2. 95!!!!! Terms and condition apply…
But I need new umbrella anyway…

So, I wanted a plant!!! Just popped up in my mind when we were browsing around…
I wanted to make the house more alive..more greeny…so, we decided to have this Chinese money tree…





it only costed me $8.50 + $ 3 ++ for the pot...:0

I remembered I used to see it a lot in my grandma’s house. Apparently, Chinese people believe It will bring luck and during Chinese New Year, my grandma will accessorize it with lots of ornaments hanging on the plant’s leaves…

And out of sudden I remembered my history of having pets when I was younger…

I used to have fish in my mini aquarium and the next day, the fish somehow managed to fly off and suffocated on the floor, in addition, my mum half-stepped on it early in the morning…Too dark to notice it was flapping on the floor…-________-


I also had chicken before…and they also died before growing up to be true mature chicken..-____-

After that, I had beach snails…stole it from somewhere and next time I knew, it sneaked out from its “house” that I built, and eaten by some bigger “who-knows-what” bugs or animals in my house…..


After that, I got myself a proper pet, hamster!!!! It was so cute and I named it happy…but I guess it was not happy enough that after couple of months..It ran away from the cage and I couldn’t find it anymore...That was sad…and I had another two given by a friend but they suffered from disease before they were given and died next day…


HOW COME ALL THE “PET” I HAD RAN AWAY????????

So, I decided to have a plant instead, besides its efficiency (only require water) and don’t need to walk or play with it every time, no hairs flying around, and no issues with landlord or agency. GOOD, at least that’s what I think.
I know taking care of plant needs passion and patience and so, I will try my best to keep it alive…:)


N.B: I wish someone could advice me on how to take care of this Chinese money tree…

Busy busy busyyyyyyy~~~~

I have neglected my blog for soooooooooooo many days I believe...
Giving all the blame to my hectic schedule of moving, working and assignments for the past few days..
I had to work 5 days a week for the past week, I had to move within one day, there was no electricity and Internet will only be made available by next week, I had 2 assignments due with only 2 days gap..!!!!
I had been traumatized by all that and so, I have to postpone blogging and all that because I don't even have time to shit!!!

I even injured myself because of my hectic week and have been swearing at anything I can swear at!!! (Not really, I am not a swearing type of person) :))))

So, I am assuming that I can blog properly after Monday, 25th because I have like MAJOR assignment to submit and believe me this one is HUGE!!!!!

I've got new home!!!!! + Ticket to watch MY YEAR WITHOUT SEX

After my days and days of agonizing, headache, body-ache, days feel like years of deep depression!!!!! Ok, I am exaggerating a little bit here...but can you imagine being asked to move out within 30 days when you are showered by assignments and part-time work?????

Most importantly, you have to depend on yourself coz there is NOONE there to help!!!!
Well not really, there were people offering help, from friends, which I appreciate very very much!!!! Thanks heaps :)))

The thing is, I want to stay in the city cos obviously I don't drive and can't...Don't laugh at me!!! Ok, I don't care if you laugh your head off...Anyway, staying in city is much more convenient for me and more entertaining...rather than cold suburb...(I don't intend to offend anyone staying suburb)...

I prefer the atmosphere in the city and public transport in city to my uni and work is so much convenient, especially I work early in the morning....

After days and days or I shall say feel like YEARS....I lodged two applications and I got back good new from one!!!!! Name me lucky!!!! I have tips for those who are looking for ways to impress real estate agency, but won't reveal now..xxx

Oh, I am not gonna be homeless anymore...HAHAHHAHA!!!! Maybe I shouldn't laugh first...OOoops.....

Anyway, I got ticket to watch MY YEAR WITHOUT SEX from Nuffnang!!!! Thanks heaps to Nuffnang!!!!

I tried the first attempt but I was too late...So I tried the second chance and I got it!!! Woohoooooo!!!!

They gave the chance for the first 20 bloggers to email them first and they could lay their hand on the pre-screening ticket for the movie and It was too late for me by the time I checked my email...:(

I have such a bad week already!!! Having forced to move out, 2 assignments coming up, working, inspections for property, preparing documents, and I SERIOUSLY DON'T need any triggering effect to explode to the MAX!!!!

I hate how those people manage to randomly found my email address..those little F***ers!!!

I had like 10 same SCAM mails with different names flying around ranging from man to women..but too damn stupid putting almost similar bank resource (Bank Africa). It is damn obvious he or she (s) are SCAMers OK????????????? Stink ASS!!!!

The emails go like this:

4th Annual Zombie Shuffle??

I saw an interesting event today after an inspection, which I wish I would get...

There were bunch of people painting themselves complete with zombie costumes...Starting from mad scientist, dead bride, etc.. You know what???

It reminds me so much of the movie 28 weeks later, which half way through the movie I left cause I couldn't take it..It made me want to PUKE!!!!

Anyway, this is so interesting...I wonder in what event and why???
So I googled and I think it is the 4th annual anniversary of zombie shuffle???
I completely don't know what is it about and I really hope that someone will kindly explain to me as I am only in Melbourne for one year and didn't know whether last year they had it..These people apparently gathered at Carlton garden and started the parade til Crown Casino!!!!!



I saw them at La Trobe st...

They gathered in front of State Library and tried to freak people out...:))

I have had devastating day....EVER!!!!

I wasn't having a very good starting day already.....and when I came home I had to force myself to accept a terribly shocking news...and apparently, it happens a lot in Australia.. I was upset!!!!! I felt like a victim..NO!!!! I AM!!!!A VICTIM HERE!!!!!

I just moved in to my current apartment for less than 6 months and now????
"They" INNOCENTLY asked me, my boyfriend and other tenants to move out!!!

WHY????? That is because some DUMBASS didn't pay his or her mortgage to the bank and now the bank took over this property...

I came home today after a loooooooooooong looooooooooooong day of working 6 a.m in the morning!!! and was about to sleep ...

Suddenly this lady called into my apartment and i thought she dialed the wrong unit...Thus, I ignored...

and then I received a call from the porter asking to see me..

He explained the situation that apparently the lady was about to hand in a legal document regarding notice to move out as this property is not under Mr. "dumbass" anymore...

I was shocked...don't know what to do i called my boyfriend..and asked him to call my real estate agency..Alas, the manager went home already...

I was FURIOUS!!! Asking myself why the real estate agency doesn't inform us??????
WHY WHY WHY WHY????????

I can't really blame the Mr. DUMBASS because in this economic difficulties situation, people lost money everywhere....

Nothing you can do anyway....except to UNWILLINGLY accept the fact that I have to move my sticky butt and stop crying...

Ironic enough, during this tough time, it seems like property value drops in market..So, should be good time to find units...

Hopefully noone is getting into my situation..and anyone with information of house or apartment leasing in CBD, please drop a comment...

It will be very much appreciated...

May Day 2009

I thought May Day or widely known as Labor Day supposed to be celebrated on the first day of May???
Well, after I googled it..It seems that May Day is held at different days in different countries and even in Australia, different state has different day for May Day...
Today, after I came home from work, I kept hearing the Scottish marching band playing their typical instruments that you often see in Movie..you can see it in movie "MAID OF HONOUR" starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan..

I found out from my apartment that there was march on the road...constructed by many different people from different working background carrying flag symbolizing what they represented and they were led by the Scottish band...

This event is so cool..It is the way you show respect to all the hard work the employees has contributed...They deserve all the right of equal and sufficient wages..

So I snapped some photos from level 8th of my apartment...

Blok-M EXPRESS, Little Londsdale

YAY!!! I went to Blok M today after days and days nagging at my boyfriend ...

Beatrice: "Let's go to Blok M"
BF : "Too far"

In fact!!! It is not far at all!!! But he is just not feeling like walking there......

Today!!!! He suggested...let's go Blok M!!!

MUHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!

But I know there was reason behind his intention....His office is just nearby...and he knew I have been craving for it....LOL

It is located in Little Londsdale, intersects with Elizabeth st...



(In case you don't know how the restaurant looks like)

As an introduction, Blok M is an Indonesian restaurant that provides all sorts of Indonesian food and drinks like es durian (durian ice), es alpokat (Avocado ice), etc...On top of all, they have their signature of "Ikan Balado". Note here that Balado is the type of Indonesian home-made sauce poured on top of fried-fish.

I have tried a lot of Indonesian restaurants in the city, but a few that really impressed me..as an Indonesian..However, when my friends brought me there..I was impressed...It is even better than other restaurants. Note that two of the restaurants that I like to visit is Es Teler 77 at Swanston St just few feets from Melbourne Central and Blok M at Little Londsdale.

Unfortunately, the first couple of visits, I didn't manage to try the "Balado" fish as there was no fish coming in (Don't know what that really means).

Few weeks ago.....
Beatrice: "Ikannya ada??" ------> "Is there fish today??"
Cashier :" Ga ada..." ------> "No fish today"

The next week I went...still the same....

and today!!!!! FINALLY!!! It is in the house!!!!!

Straight away I ordered....and my boyfriend ordered the other dish which was "Nasi Gudeg Jogja" originated from Jogjakarta I supposed...However, it is not authentic enough of course...
That is why you should visit Indonesia...the "Heaven" of food!!!

My Balado fish....or "Ikan Balado". I didn't take the whole fish picture as the fish was staring at me...;(



My boyfriend's "Nasi Gudeg Jogja" consisted of jackfruits (Cooked til soft), Chicken, Indonesian "chips", beancurds, etc.

I was really satisfied with it!!!! :)) although I can say it is not as authentic as when you sit down at the road side of Indonesian street and eat it with your hands....

Other than that, you should really try for the "taste of Indonesia" <----slogan of Blok-M!!! :))
